Amenity rooms at Frimley Park Hospital
Amenity rooms are available for mothers who wish to have extra privacy after the birth of their baby. You will still be treated as an NHS patient but are paying for the privacy of a single room. Please advise our staff if you wish to have an amenity room. They will be able to advise if one is available and the current cost per night.
You can book an amenity room on the Frimley Park Postnatal Ward but not in advance. Ask the midwife after the birth of your baby to try and book an amenity room for you (please note that the rooms do not currently have en-suite facilities). You will be charged on a nightly basis and a bill will be sent to you at home once you have left the hospital.
The Astor Suite at Wexham Park Hospital - please note that the suite is currently being renovated and is unavailable until summer 2017.
The Astor Suite is a five roomed unit for mothers who wish to pay for additional care and privacy after delivering their new baby. It consists of three rooms with en suite facilities, two rooms with shower and toilet facilities nearby, and a lounge/diner area. All rooms have their own change mat and baby bath.
The Astor Suite is very popular, so it is advisable to book your room early into your pregnancy so you will get priority for an available room. And don’t worry, if you change your mind after making a booking, you will not be charged.
Due to the unpredictable nature of some labours and births, we can’t always guarantee that a booked room will be free for you. But once you arrive on the labour ward, and if a booked room is free, it will be kept for you. Please advise your midwife that you have a reservation and she will undertake the necessary arrangements.
Once you have given birth, you may opt to be transferred with your baby to our Astor Suite to recover, so please ask in case there is a room available, even if you have not made a prior booking. If you have had a caesarean section, you will need to stay on our Postnatal Ward for 24 hours before transferring to the Astor Suite.
When you arrive, a member of the Astor Suite staff will welcome you and show you to your room and familiarise you with the facilities. She will ensure you are comfortable and settled.
A midwife will examine you and your baby at least once a day while you are in the Astor Suite, and a paediatrician will examine your baby before you go home. A maternity support worker will be permanently on hand within the Astor Suite to provide help with personal hygiene, feeding and general baby care. A midwife is available on request to provide specialist assistance and advice throughout your stay.
If you would like more details of the Astor Suite or to book a room please contact them.
